Who We Are
We are a collective of a dozen innovators from Central Europe—spanning diverse fields including mathematics, artificial intelligence, technology, education, policy, and philosophy. What unites us is not a single discipline, but a shared conviction: the agentic era requires more than technological capability. It demands cultural grounding, moral clarity, epistemic discipline, and democratic maturity.
Our team emerged from Metamatics, a venture studio and innovation collective dedicated to transforming ideas into impactful technology companies across Central Europe. At Metamatics, we partner with entrepreneurs, researchers, and institutions to create solutions that bridge global capital with deep regional collaboration—driving economic growth while staying rooted in European values.
Through Metamatics, we've witnessed firsthand how technology can amplify human capability. But we've also learned that amplification without anchors produces fragility. Speed without wisdom creates chaos. Acceleration without values leads to extraction, manipulation, and institutional decay.
The Civilization Builders Manifesto emerged from this realization. It represents our collective answer to a simple question: What kind of future do we want to build in the age of agents—and how do we ensure that Europe leads not through brute force, but through depth, integrity, and human-centric design?
Why Central Europe?
Central Europe sits at a unique intersection: between East and West, between tradition and innovation, between institutional memory and technological ambition. We carry the lessons of history—of what happens when power grows faster than wisdom, when narratives replace truth, when identity becomes more important than dignity.
This is not a liability. It is our strategic advantage.
We understand that civilization is fragile. We know that democracy requires constant maintenance. We've experienced firsthand how institutions can be captured, how propaganda can reshape reality, and how societies can collapse when they lose their moral compass.
In the age of agents, this historical consciousness becomes invaluable. While others race toward acceleration, we ask: acceleration toward what? While others optimize for engagement, we ask: engagement with what values? While others celebrate disruption, we ask: what must never be disrupted?
Our Approach
We are not anti-technology. We are pro-governance. We believe that agents represent one of the most powerful tools humanity has ever created—but power without steering is dangerous.
Our work sits at the intersection of three commitments:
- Education as transformation: We believe the agentic era requires a fundamental rethinking of how we develop human capability—shifting from memorization to judgment, from compliance to authorship, from passive citizenship to civilization-building participation.
- Culture as infrastructure: We treat civilizational memory, value literacy, epistemic discipline, and democratic maturity not as nice-to-haves, but as survival infrastructure for societies navigating machine-speed change.
- Action as responsibility: We do not write manifestos to philosophize. We write them to build. Every principle in this manifesto is designed to translate into concrete educational programs, institutional reforms, and civic initiatives.
Our Foundation: Metamatics
Metamatics serves as our operational foundation—a venture studio where ideas meet execution, where theory meets practice, and where European values meet global ambition. Through Metamatics, we:
- Build technology companies that embody the principles of this manifesto
- Partner with universities, research institutions, and policymakers to pilot new educational models
- Create AI-driven tools that enhance human judgment rather than replace it
- Design systems that scale care, education, and democratic participation—not just extraction and manipulation
- Connect Central European innovation to global capital and markets
Metamatics is not separate from this manifesto. It is the engine that turns these ideas into reality.
Our Commitments
We, the authors and supporters of this manifesto, commit to:
- ✦ Truth-seeking over fluency
- ✦ Cultural continuity over ignorant novelty
- ✦ Moral clarity over expedience
- ✦ Systems thinking over simplistic solutions
- ✦ Democratic maturity over tribal warfare
- ✦ Responsible acceleration over blind speed
- ✦ Attention and inner freedom over algorithmic capture
- ✦ Creation as service over production as noise
- ✦ Building civilization, one tested improvement at a time
